Our History

In 1994, a group of radiologists brought Magnetic Resonance Imaging to 462 Grider Street in Buffalo, N.Y. to provide the people of Western New York with the an alternative to standard clinical radiologic technology imaging procedures. At the time, Magnetic Resonance Imaging was in its infancy here in Western New York and our MRI was one of the first in the area.

In 2000, MRI Associates of Buffalo, PC, which is comprised of 3 radiologists, took over management of the practice and replaced the outdated equipment with state of the art technology. MRI Associates brought in a GE Signa Horizon LX 1.5 tesla system. The MRI system is designed for maximum clinical performance for high resolution/high signal-to-noise ratio for whole body imaging.

Our system and procedures have received accreditation by the American College of Radiology. All our technologist are certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, and board certified, fellowship trained radiologists interpret the images.

The utilization and complexity of MR procedures have constantly increased since its inception as a valuable diagnostic tool introduced in the 1980's. Safety and patient management issues are important aspects of this diagnostic modality. Unlike most other Imaging modalities MRI does not produce any harmful radiation. MRI associates of Buffalo, PC has the skilled and qualified professionals necessary to provide optimal diagnostic MRI and MRA imaging.
